![]() "The finest up and coming young storyteller in England today." Duncan Williamson, Traditional Storyteller, Scotland "Thank you so much for your stories last Sunday at the English
Folk Dance & Song Society's Ceremony of Carols and Customs. We have not had a
story teller for awhile, and you convinced us that we should do so more often. Your
stories were greatI have been very ineptly telling the shopping one!!!" "Storytelling as we head into the
next millenium is in the capable, gracious, and talented hands of this young story teller.
Not only does she make the stories come alive, but helps us to realise their importance in
our daily lives." "Sagalout!" The Observer "Thanks Amy for being one of our featured artists at Geneva, Illinois, Fox Valley Folk and Stortytelling Festival. You have awonderful way of crafting your stories that pulls listeners in and holds them until the very last word. Eveyone raved about your performances. We so enjoyed how you participated inour special adult set, and how you shared your outrageous lies in our liar's contest. We look forward to having you back soon." "Dear Amy, Thanks for being a wonderful part of the Chinquapin
Folk Music and Storytelling Festival. We really enjoyed your stories and the time we had
together (though it was much too short). There are many storytellers who were once
singers, teachers, actors, or librarians. Their work is coloured and (hopefully enhanced)
by this epxerience. With you, we see a storyteller, slightly translucent, who lets only
the shadows of the tellers who came before show through. Its' as if one can hear more than
one teller or one generation of tellers at once. Thank you for that experience. Fair
winds," "I listened to the whole of the CD Stories of Shropshire and I
really enjoyed the stories. I particularly liked the way many of the stories related to
the landscape of Shropshire. The landscape of Shropshire became interesting and
significant for me even though I've never been to Shropshire. I also really enjoyed the
pace of the stories. You have an instinctive feeling for which elements of the story to
use and how much detail is required. Although your stories are told in a very
natural/conversational tone, they are told with sparing detail. This has the effect of
focusing the attention on the interesting details, and letting the imagination carry to
the story. Using ordinary language, and a very common form (the folk story), your
storytelling transported my mind and heart far away." Dear Amy, Light Horse as Acton Scott Working
Farm 26th August 2006. Thank you very much for the
excellent project, exhibition and ceramic horse installation designed
and delivered by you and fellow artist ...... for the rural communities
of South Shropshire. The arts workshops, installation of ceramic horses
and storytelling you performed on the evening of the event provided a
creative and intuitive interpretation of the heritage and culture of the
heavy horse in the Shropshire landscape. I would also like to
thank you for the professional way in which you worked with our partners
and the way you responded to their needs with a positive and
collaborative approach. You work efficiently, meet every deadline and
you communicate well. It has been a real pleasure to work with you.
