Dan Keding Dan Keding is a wonderful American storyteller. He tells personal stories of growing up in Chicago, traditional stories from his Croatian grandmother and many more. Together we have published ‘English Folktales’, a book of traditional English stories retold by English storytellers. He is over in England in May 2006 – you can see him at Chippenham Folk Festival and in Shropshire / Cheshire working with Mythstories Museum. www.dankeding.com Mythstories Museum of Myth and Fable A fantastic resource for myths, legends and background information. The physical museum is located in Wem, Shropshire. The museum is incredibly proactive and innovative in their outreach work. I have been involved in several projects with them, including "Shut Stories," a residency to incorporate existing folklore, reminiscences, history and dream, into a new tradition for Shrewsbury, based in the alleyways that thread through the heart of town. www.mythstories.com The Society for Storytelling The Society for Storytelling is a national organization for England and Wales providing information and promoting storytelling throughout the country. If you want to keep up with nationwide storytelling events and issues, this is the place for you. www.sfs.org.uk Festival at the Edge A fabulous storytelling festival on Wenlock Edge in Shropshire. It always takes place the third weekend in July
There is also a Winter’s Edge Festival, timed to coincide with National
Storytelling Week. This year ‘Winter’s Edge will run from 30th
January – 5th February.
