This was another wonderful opportunity to collaborate with
visual artist, Michelle O’Connor. We shared stories and music
for day-care centres, residential homes and visitors to Acton
Scott and collected memories of heavy horses
working the local land. We then ran sessions for primary
schools and nurseries, introducing them to Captain the percheron
and each child made a clay horse lantern to contribute to an
installation of 300 horse lanterns inspired by the Sacred Groves
of Tamil Nadu and the role of the heavy horse in our past and
folklore.
